There were a total of 1,99,459 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election, of which 1,00,156 were male, 99,265 female and 38 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,09,924 registered voters, of which 1,00,156 were male, 1,03,749 female and 43 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 1,78,994 registered voters in this constituency, of which 93,572 were male, 85,378 female and 44 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 1,72,608 which included 91,973 male, and 80,635 female.

In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Jaya Narayan Mishra of BJP won in this constituency beating Dr Raseswari Panigrahi of BJD by a margin of 4,380 votes which was 3.4% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Raseswari Panigrahi of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Jayanarayan Mishra of BJP by a margin of 9,958 votes which was 8.8% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Jayanarayan Mishra of BJP won this seat defeating Sureswar Mishra of INC by a margin of 7,010 votes which was 8.94% of the total votes polled for the seat.
