The geographic coordinates of Koraput Assembly constituency are: 18°42'23.4"N 82°35'07.4"E. Koraput shares its borders with five other Assembly constituencies. Other Odisha Assembly constituencies adjacent to Koraput are: Laxmipur, Kotpad, Jeypore, Pottangi, Chitrakonda. This constituency shares an inter-state border with: Andhra Pradesh.

Demographic profile

There were a total of 1,90,341 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election, of which 92,921 were male, 97,408 female and 12 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 1,90,264 registered voters, of which 92,921 were male, 97,195 female and 12 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 1,69,439 registered voters in this constituency, of which 84,058 were male, 85,377 female and 4 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 1,61,797 which included 80,278 male, and 81,519 female.

In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Raghu Ram Padal of BJD won in this constituency beating Krushna Kuldip of INC by a margin of 6,285 votes which was 4.59% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Krishna Chandra Sagaria of INC was the winner in this seat beating Raghuram Machha of BJD by a margin of 4,976 votes which was 3.99% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Raghuram Padal of BJD won this seat defeating Krishna Chandra Sagaria of INC by a margin of 1,114 votes which was 1.17% of the total votes polled for the seat.
