In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Subash Chandra Behera of BJD won in this constituency beating Prasanta Kumar Kar of BJP by a margin of 21,051 votes which was 14.16% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Priyanshu Pradhan of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Krushna Chandra Nayak of CPI by a margin of 22,019 votes which was 15.86% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Adikanda Sethi of CPI won this seat defeating Bhagaban Behera of BJP by a margin of 16,557 votes which was 15.85% of the total votes polled for the seat.
