In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Bishnubrata Routray of BJD won in this constituency beating Ashok Kumar Das of INC by a margin of 9,581 votes which was 5.14% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Shri Bijayshree Routray of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Madhabananda Mallick of INC by a margin of 6,506 votes which was 3.89% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bijayshree Routray of BJD won this seat defeating Madhabananda Mallick of INC by a margin of 6,840 votes which was 4.68% of the total votes polled for the seat.
