In 2015, Ram Balak Singh of JDU was the winner in this seat beating Ram Deo Verma of CPM by a margin of 17235 votes which was 11.84% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Ram Balak Singh of JDU won this seat defeating Ramdeo Verma of CPM by a margin of 12301 votes which was 10.14% of the total votes polled for the seat.
