There were a total of 1,97,868 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election, of which 97,641 were male, 1,00,221 female and 6 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 1,86,751 registered voters, of which 97,641 were male, 93,675 female and 6 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 1,65,686 registered voters in this constituency, of which 83,689 were male, 81,994 female and 3 of the third gender. In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Basanti Hembram of BJD won in this constituency beating Padma Charan Haiburu of BJP by a margin of 8,763 votes which was 6.22% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Bijay Kumar Naik of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Jyostna Bhansingh of BJP by a margin of 13,551 votes which was 10.47% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bijay Kumar Naik of BJD won this seat defeating Jabamani Tudu of INC by a margin of 21,401 votes which was 20.51% of the total votes polled for the seat.
