In 2014, Bijay Kumar Naik of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Jyostna Bhansingh of BJP by a margin of 13,551 votes which was 10.47% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bijay Kumar Naik of BJD won this seat defeating Jabamani Tudu of INC by a margin of 21,401 votes which was 20.51% of the total votes polled for the seat.
