There were a total of 2,11,908 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election, of which 1,02,770 were male, 1,09,104 female and 34 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,11,660 registered voters, of which 1,02,770 were male, 1,08,633 female and 36 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 1,87,904 registered voters in this constituency, of which 92,446 were male, 95,444 female and 14 of the third gender. In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Taraprasad Bahinipati of INC won in this constituency beating Rabi Narayan Nanda of BJD by a margin of 5,451 votes which was 3.45% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Tara Prasad Bahinipati of INC was the winner in this seat beating Rabi Narayan Nanda of BJD by a margin of 8,367 votes which was 5.71% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Rabi Narayan Nanda of BJD won this seat defeating Tara Prasad Bahinipati of BJP by a margin of 9,316 votes which was 7.47% of the total votes polled for the seat.
