In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Dpradeep Kumar Panigrahy of BJD won in this constituency beating Bibhuti Bhusan Jena of BJP by a margin of 2,673 votes which was 1.98% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Pradeep Kumar Panigrahy of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Bibhuti Bhusan Jena of BJP by a margin of 20,112 votes which was 17.1% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Dr Pradeep Kumar Panigrahy of BJD won this seat defeating Dr Trinath Behera of INC by a margin of 18,758 votes which was 21.33% of the total votes polled for the seat.
