Demographic profile

There were a total of 2,25,908 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Brahmagiri Assembly election, of which 1,16,135 were male, 1,09,761 female and 12 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,19,117 registered voters, of which 1,16,135 were male, 1,06,085 female and 12 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 1,96,387 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,01,930 were male, 94,446 female and 11 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 1,84,876 which included 94,590 male, and 90,286 female.

In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra of BJP won in this constituency beating Sanjay Kumar Das Burma of BJD by a margin of 2,130 votes which was 1.19% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Sanjay Kumar Das Burma of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra of INC by a margin of 1,648 votes which was 1.02% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Sanjay Kumar Das Burma of BJD won this seat defeating Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra of INC by a margin of 4,886 votes which was 3.36% of the total votes polled for the seat.
