In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Dr. Ramanuj Prasad of RJD won in this constituency beating Vinay Kumar Singh of BJP by a margin of 6686 votes which was 3.94% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Dr Ramanuj Prasad of RJD was the winner in this seat beating Vinay Kumar Singh of BJP by a margin of 36396 votes which was 23.2% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Vinay Kumar Singh of BJP won this seat defeating Rabri Devi of RJD by a margin of 20685 votes which was 17.19% of the total votes polled for the seat.
