In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Haribhushan Thakur "Bachol" of BJP won in this constituency beating Da. Faiyaz Ahmad of RJD by a margin of 10282 votes which was 5.74% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Faiyaz Ahmad of RJD was the winner in this seat beating Manoj Kumar Yadav (Bhoj Pandaul) of BLSP by a margin of 35325 votes which was 22.08% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Dr Faiyaj Ahmad of RJD won this seat defeating Hari Bhushan Thakur of JDU by a margin of 9501 votes which was 8.25% of the total votes polled for the seat.
