In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Surendra Prasad Yadav of RJD won in this constituency beating Abhay Kumar Sinha of JDU by a margin of 23963 votes which was 14.1% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Surendra Prasad Yadav of RJD was the winner in this seat beating Sharim Ali of HAMS by a margin of 30341 votes which was 21.08% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Surendra Prasad Yadav of RJD won this seat defeating Mohammad Amzad of JDU by a margin of 4638 votes which was 3.81% of the total votes polled for the seat.
